Brown nails – the colour of autumn
Brown nails are one of the most popular choices in autumn and winter. Chocolate brown looks elegant on its own, coffee beiges work beautifully in an ombre from light to dark, and brown with gold shimmer or a cat eye effect is a great idea for evenings out. Brown gel polish pairs well with beige, gold, burgundy and olive green. You will find inspiration in our post on brown nails.
Dark brown or light cocoa – how to choose a shade for your client's hands
Every shade of brown looks different on the hand. Dark brown, the colour of dark chocolate, is a bold, elegant choice for short, well-kept nails, while light cocoa and coffee with milk give a subtle effect that suits any occasion. Browns with a warm note of caramel and nut look good on warm skin tones, and cool chocolates and brown with a hint of purple suit fair, cool skin. Gold nail art looks great on a brown base, and the satin, pearly finish of a cat eye adds depth to a nail set.
Preparing the nail plate and applying brown gel polish
Before applying colour, prepare the cuticles, matt the nail plate, degrease it with a nail cleanser and apply a base coat. NessaUV lac brown gel polish has high pigmentation – dark chocolates give even coverage in thin layers – and the shaped brush makes it easy to apply right up to the cuticles. With a base coat and top coat, a gel polish manicure usually looks neat for 2–3 weeks.
