Disinfecting beauty tools
Reusable tools such as nippers, pushers or e-file bits come into contact with your client's skin, so they need to be washed and disinfected after every service. Julia Nessa e-file bits and tools tolerate disinfection and sterilisation well. Barbicide Concentrate is a product for disinfecting tools and accessories by immersion. It acts on bacteria, fungi, viruses and spores. The formula, free from alcohol and aldehydes, does not cause corrosion or dulling of immersed tools. The concentrate is available in two sizes: 500 ml and 1900 ml.
Surface disinfection
The desk, the arm rest and the lamp need disinfecting between clients. Barbicide spray is ready to use without dilution. It is based on quaternary ammonium compounds and contains no ethanol, aldehydes or phenols. You can buy it in a 750 ml bottle, in unscented and scented versions.
Hand disinfection
Barbicide hand disinfection is an alcohol-based liquid for hygienic hand disinfection by rubbing in. It contains aloe, which helps prevent the skin from drying out. Available in 250 ml and 1000 ml sizes.
Ultrasonic cleaners for tools
Before a tool goes for disinfection, it needs to be cleaned thoroughly. Ultrasonic cleaning is more thorough than washing by hand: DENSON cleaners help remove dirt from hard-to-reach places, for example from between the cuts of an e-file bit, without mechanical scrubbing. The ACDS-300 model has a stainless steel tank with a capacity of 0.8 l and works at a frequency of 42 kHz.
Washing, disinfecting and sterilising tools – the order
Hygiene in a beauty salon is three separate stages. Washing, by hand or in an ultrasonic cleaner, removes dirt. Disinfection destroys micro-organisms on the surface of the tool. Sterilisation of tools is the final stage: after disinfection, beauty tools are dried, packed in a sterilisation pouch or bag and placed in a steriliser, that is an autoclave. The correct course of the process is confirmed by sterilisation control tests. The pack is opened only in front of the client.
