Shades of purple gel polish
Lavender and violet
Lavender 500 looks like a flower in bloom on the nails – it is delicate and romantic – while violet 511 is a subtle shade for spring and summer nail sets. You'll also find pastel purples among the pastel gel polishes – for example 412 Lavender Dream and 512 Romantic Dream.
Cool and muted purples
509 is a cool grey-purple that combines the restraint of grey with lavender tones – an elegant colour for work and for autumn.
Berry and plum
Deep berry-burgundy 508 combines the depth of forest fruits with the elegance of dark wine. Purples with shimmer are plum 906, plum-silver 920 and the cool, luminous violet 926.
Purple nails – from spring to winter
Purple nails are easy to match to the season: lavender and lilac shades are a spring and Easter classic, cool purples suit autumn nail sets, and berry and plum tones with shimmer suit a winter, evening manicure. Purple pairs well with white, silver, powder pink and grey, and in a pastel version – with mint and sky blue.
Purple gel polish with shimmer and in a milky finish
Purple gel polish also comes with shimmer and in a milky finish. Pearly purple-pink 961 Icy Lilac and lavender with gold shimmer 922 are options for evenings and the holidays, while pink-lilac 009 Lilac Mist is a delicate, milky version of purple for a natural nail set. Apply dark purples especially carefully and keep the polish off the skin – any gel polish is easier to correct before curing in the lamp than after.
Nail plate prep and applying purple gel polish
Before applying colour, prep the cuticles, buff the nail plate to matte, degrease it with a nail cleanser and apply the base. NessaUV lac purple gel polish has high pigmentation, and the shaped brush lets you apply the colour precisely, right up to the cuticles. With a base and top coat, a gel polish manicure usually looks neat for 2–3 weeks.
- ♥ apply a gel polish base and cure it in the lamp
- ♥ spread a thin layer of purple and cure: 120 seconds in a 36W UV lamp or 30 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp
- ♥ apply a second thin layer – a light lavender sometimes needs a third
- ♥ seal the design with a top coat
