Ultrasonic cleaner for beauty tools – cleaning before disinfection

After a service, every e-file bit, pair of nippers or pusher is covered in dust and traces of dead skin and products. Before a tool goes into the disinfecting liquid and for sterilisation, it needs to be cleaned thoroughly – otherwise tool disinfection will not be effective. This is where an ultrasonic cleaner comes in: a device that cleans beauty tools with ultrasonic waves, reaching hard-to-access places that a brush cannot clean.

How does an ultrasonic cleaner work?

An ultrasonic cleaner produces high-frequency ultrasonic waves in a tank of liquid. They cause cavitation – millions of microscopic bubbles form and burst in the solution, lifting dirt from the surface of tools, from the grooves of e-file bits and from the hinges of nippers. Ultrasonic cleaning is thorough yet gentle: there is no need to scrub, so there is less risk of damaging blades or the grit of e-file bits.

Ultrasonic cleaner in a nail salon – how to use it

  • ♥ Pour water or ultrasonic cleaner liquid into the tank.
  • ♥ Place the tools so they are fully immersed and do not touch each other.
  • ♥ Choose a cleaning time to suit the number of tools and the amount of dirt.
  • ♥ When finished, take the tools out, rinse and dry them.
  • ♥ Then disinfect the tools (for example with Barbicide concentrate), and sterilise those that require it.

An ultrasonic cleaner does not replace the disinfection and sterilisation of tools – it is the first stage of the process: washing and disinfection, then sterilisation. Thorough cleaning makes the following stages more effective.

Why have an ultrasonic cleaner in a beauty studio?

An ultrasonic cleaner saves time because it cleans several tools at once while you prepare your desk for the next client. After cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaner, manicure e-file bits work like new, because dust does not stay in the grit. The device is also useful in hair salons and podiatry studios, wherever the hygiene of tools matters.

Does an ultrasonic cleaner disinfect tools?

No – the cleaner cleans tools. Disinfection is done with a separate disinfecting liquid, and sterilisation in an autoclave.

What liquid should I put in an ultrasonic cleaner?

Water or a liquid intended for ultrasonic cleaners, following the device's instructions.

Which cleaner should I choose?

The ACDS-100 (0.6 l) is enough for one nail desk. The ACDS-300 (0.8 l) with a steel tank holds more tools and suits a larger salon.
