Foaming Hand Wash

Products: 8

Foaming hand wash removes dirt and oily residue, while glycerine and lactic acid help limit dryness from frequent washing. Use it to wash your client's hands before a treatment and your own between appointments. In this category you will find four perfumed Julia Nessa foaming hand washes, 200 ml each – Angel Glow, Beauty Way, Flower Dream and Good Owl – also in 10 + 2 free multipacks.

Foaming hand wash in the salon – why not ordinary soap

Washing hands before every client and after every treatment means a dozen or more repetitions a day in a beauty salon. At that frequency ordinary soap starts to do harm: it strips the skin's natural protective layer, and hands become rough and tight after just a few days.

A foaming hand wash works differently. The dispenser releases ready-made foam, so the product spreads over your hands straight away, with no need to lather it up and without an excess of surfactants. Washing takes less time and the skin has less contact with the product.

The second thing that matters in this job: the foam has to remove oily residue. After a treatment, your hands are left with oil from cuticle oils, traces of nail cleanser and dust from filing. Our foaming hand washes remove these residues, so hands are properly clean and ready for the next stage of work.

Four scents – which to choose for your nail desk

We offer four perfumed foaming hand washes, each in a 200 ml bottle. All are based on the same formula and differ only in their fragrance composition.

Angel Glow is raspberry, rose and warm woods – an expressive composition with a fruity opening. The most characterful of the four, a good choice for a nail desk where you want a scent accent.

Beauty Way combines jasmine, tuberose and bergamot with subtle vanilla and white musk. A fresh, elegant floral composition – the safest choice if you work with clients who have different tastes.

Flower Dream is the most floral option: jasmine, freesia and orchid softened by patchouli and vanilla. An enveloping scent that suits salons with a warmer interior.

Good Owl has notes of jasmine, tuberose, cocoa and tonka bean. A sensual, sweeter composition with a distinct dessert-like finish.

If you are not sure where to start, go for Beauty Way or Flower Dream. These are the two most universal compositions – they rarely bother anyone, and when you wash your hands a dozen or more times a day, you need a scent you will not get tired of.

The formula – glycerine and lactic acid

Washing agents on their own always dry the skin to some extent. That is why the formula of each foam contains glycerine and lactic acid.

Glycerine binds water in the skin, so it moisturises from within. Lactic acid helps maintain the skin's proper pH and supports its protective barrier. Together they limit what hurts most with frequent hand washing – that tight feeling right after you dry your hands.

This does not mean the foam replaces a cream. It means that after a dozen or more washes a day, your skin will not be in the state it would be in after ordinary soap. You still need hand cream, it just has less work to do.

The foams are gentle on the skin, but like any cosmetic product they may cause an allergic reaction. Store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct light. All are made in Europe.

How to use the foam during a treatment

Foaming hand wash comes in useful at two moments of a treatment. The first is washing your client's hands before you start work – faster than soap and without splashing at the sink. The second is washing your own hands between clients.

During a manicure it is worth washing your client's hands at the end too, after removing the dust. The skin is then clean, and the cuticle oil you apply afterwards absorbs better than on a hand with traces of dust.

Place the foam dispenser where you can reach it with one hand without leaving your nail desk. It sounds like a small thing, but with a dozen or more uses a day it decides whether you will actually use the product.

10 + 2 free multipacks

Each of the four scents is also available in a multipack of ten with two extra bottles free. It is an option for salons that go through foam quickly, and for nail stylists who resell cosmetics to clients.

A 200 ml bottle with a dispenser lasts a salon several weeks of intensive use – the exact time depends on the number of clients. With the twelve bottles from a multipack you have a supply for the whole season and do not have to remember to reorder in the middle of the month.

Multipacks also work well for add-on sales. A client who likes the scent of the foam in the salon often wants the same one at home – and it is a low-priced item that is easy to add to a nail set.

Foaming hand wash vs liquid soap – what works on the job

Liquid soap has to be spread and lathered in your hands, which is inconvenient when you are wearing gloves or have wet hands. The foam comes out of the dispenser ready to use – one press and you are washing straight away.

The difference becomes clear over the number of repetitions. A few seconds saved on one wash adds up to a few minutes over fifteen washes a day, and to a quarter of an hour over a five-day working week. On top of that you use less product per wash, because the foam is dosed precisely.

Bar soap is out in a beauty salon for hygiene reasons – the bar sits in a soap dish and comes into contact with the hands of one person after another.

Washing your client's hands as part of the treatment

Washing your client's hands at the start of the visit is not only about hygiene. It is the first physical contact with the treatment and the moment when your client starts to relax. Warm water, a pleasant scent and a moment when they do not have to do anything – small details like these shape the impression of a visit as much as the nail set itself.

From a practical point of view, washing hands before work is essential. Traces of cream, oil and dirt stay on the skin, get transferred to the nail plate and reduce the adhesion of the base coat. The foam removes oily residue, so the nail plate is properly clean, not just rinsed.

It is worth washing hands at the end too, after removing the filing dust. The skin is then ready for cuticle oil and hand cream, and your client leaves the salon with clean, fragrant hands.

Foaming hand wash as a product to resell

A cosmetic that a client experiences in the salon sells itself. Foaming hand wash has an advantage over most products here: your client smells it throughout the visit and often asks what it is.

It is low-priced and something everyone uses every day – two conditions that make the decision to buy easy. A multipack of ten with two free covers both your own use in the salon and a few bottles for sale.

If you pair the foam with a hand cream in the same fragrance, you get a ready-made gift set – for Christmas or as a thank-you to a regular client.

Hand care – the foam is the first step

Washing hands is the beginning. After a treatment, a hand cream with shea butter will restore moisture, and a cuticle oil will finish the manicure.

The foaming hand washes share their fragrance compositions with our hand creams, body lotions and body mists, so you can put together a consistent scent for your salon. You will find the whole range in the care category.

Foaming hand wash – frequently asked questions

Does the foam remove oil and dust after a treatment?

Yes, the formula removes oily residue and dirt – which is why it works well in a salon, where traces of cuticle oils, nail cleanser and filing dust are left on the hands.

Does the foam dry out the skin with frequent washing?

Glycerine and lactic acid in the formula limit dryness. After a dozen or more washes a day your skin still needs cream, but it ends up in much better condition than after ordinary soap.

What is the volume and how long does it last?

Each foaming hand wash is 200 ml. In a salon it lasts several weeks, depending on the number of clients.

Which scent should I start with?

Beauty Way or Flower Dream – the most universal. Angel Glow and Good Owl are more distinctive, so they work better once you know your clients' preferences.
