Opis produktu
Sterilisation strips class 4 – chemical indicators for the autoclave
SALTEC class 4 steam sterilisation control strips are chemical indicators compliant with ISO 11140-1 that you put into the pouch together with the tools. After the process in the autoclave has finished correctly, the blue indicator changes colour to black – you have confirmation that the sterilisation conditions were met inside the pouch as well, and not only on its surface.
Class 4 indicators are multi-parameter indicators – they react to at least two critical parameters of steam sterilisation. They are a good everyday check of every load.
Features
- ♥ 200 strips 20×140 mm or 400 strips 20×70 mm – there is a perforation in the middle that makes it easy to split a strip in half
- ♥ compliant with ISO 11140-1 (class 4)
- ♥ sterilisation parameters: 121°C – 15 min or 134°C – 3 min
- ♥ you can write the date, time, cycle number and other notes on the strip
- ♥ the strips are laminated to ensure a correct process result
Class 4 or class 5?
Class 4 indicators are multi-parameter indicators – they react to at least two critical parameters of steam sterilisation. They are a good everyday check of every load. Class 5 indicators are integrating indicators – they react to all the critical parameters of steam sterilisation (temperature, time and the presence of steam), so they give a more precise check of every load than class 4. If you would like to compare, see the class 5 strips or the whole category of sterilisation strips.
How do I use sterilisation control strips?
- ♥ Label the strip: date, time or cycle number. Use a thin permanent marker, e.g. a CD marker.
- ♥ Place the indicator inside the pouch being sterilised, in the spot hardest for steam to reach – together with the tools in a sterilisation pouch.
- ♥ Put the pouch in the autoclave for the appropriate time and temperature.
- ♥ After the process has finished correctly, the blue indicator should change colour to black.
Information: the strips are laminated to ensure a correct sterilisation result. To label them, we recommend a pen or permanent marker with a thin tip, e.g. a marker intended for labelling CDs.
How to use: place the indicator inside the pouch being sterilised, in the spot hardest for steam to reach. Put the whole pouch in the autoclave (steam steriliser) for the appropriate time and temperature. After the sterilisation process has finished correctly, the blue indicator should change colour to black.

Where should I put the sterilisation strip?
Inside the pouch, in the spot hardest for steam to reach – that is where the sterilisation conditions are hardest to meet.
What colour does the indicator change to?
After the process has finished correctly, the blue indicator changes colour to black.
How many strips are in a pack?
200 strips 20×140 mm. Each strip has a perforation in the middle, so once split you have 400 shorter strips 20×70 mm.
Does a chemical strip replace a biological test?
No. The chemical strip is used to check every load. The periodic check of the autoclave's effectiveness is done with a biological test – in line with sanitary inspectorate (sanepid) requirements.
