Builder Gel in a Bottle OMGel Silky Touch 15 ml

Silky Touch was created for clients who love a clean, minimalist look: hands should look fresh and neat, and the colour should simply highlight the natural character of the nails. The effect is subtle, milky pink and very “clean” – one that suits the office, a wedding and everyday wear.

Silky Touch – milky pink builder gel in a 15 ml bottle

The shade is a light, porcelain pink. On the nail it gives a soft, slightly milky effect that looks like a healthy, well-cared-for nail plate – with no sense of thickly painted nails. It’s exactly the look clients ask for when they show you photos of milky nails or clean nails. The milky shade looks good both on short, oval shapes and on slightly longer nails.

Before you do your first nail set in this colour, paint a colour chart. You will see how the coverage of the shade changes with the thickness of layer you normally work with, and it will be easier for your client to picture the effect.

Milky nail gel – a formula you apply straight from the bottle

OMGel has medium hardness. Thanks to its self-levelling properties, the product spreads evenly and levels itself, so you get a smooth surface without fighting every bump. That’s handy when building up – you can strengthen a weaker natural nail plate, do infills, and lightly extend nails on a form. Self-levelling also makes it easier to even out the surface before curing.

Important: this is not an acrygel. OMGel is pure gel, with no acrylic in the formula, so you work with it like a gel – with a sticky (inhibition) layer that has to be wiped off after curing.

Builder gel in a bottle versus gel in a pot

With a classic builder gel you first scoop out portions from the pot and only then transfer them to the nail. Here that stage disappears. The bottle has a brush, so you spread the material over the nail straight away – a simpler organisation of your nail desk, and you’ll appreciate the fast work especially with several clients a day. There is also no open pot for filing dust to settle in.

Step by step: file, dust, dehydrator and Thin Base 2.0 base coat

Good adhesion starts with preparation. Shape the nail plate with a file and remove the dust thoroughly. Then degrease the nail with Nail Fresh nail dehydrator. Once Nail Fresh has dried, you apply SuperBond, followed by a thin layer of Thin Base 2.0 base coat.

Only then do you apply OMGel to the nail prepared like this. Work from the middle of the nail, leaving a small gap from the cuticles and the side walls, and let the gel spread. If you are extending the nail, sculpt the free edge on a form.

Clean, minimalist manicure, French and a base for baby boomer or minimalist nail art

Every nail stylist will appreciate that Silky Touch works on its own – one or two layers and you have a neat, natural effect that office-working clients like, as well as those who don’t want visible colour in their everyday nail set. It also looks great as a base for French, baby boomer and delicate, minimalist designs. If a client wants a slightly stronger pink, show her OMGel Pink Sorbet – a candy pink with a delicate violet hint.
