Pododisc pads – how to choose the grit
The grit decides how strongly a pad sands. The lower the number, the coarser the pad. All of them are coated with a high-quality abrasive material. During one pedicure you usually go from the lowest grit to the highest.
- 90 grit – for hard, callused skin and larger thickened areas. The first stage of the treatment. These pads are waterproof, so moisture does not harm them and you can work with them wet.
- 160 grit – for light callused skin and early-stage changes.
- 210 grit – for the final stage of the treatment. It smooths the skin after thickened areas and dry skin have been removed.
- 260 polishing pads – white pads with a thick foam base that cushions the pressure. They let you polish the skin of the feet and sand small cracks.
Sizes: 20 mm and 25 mm
Every grit is available in two diameters. Each pad must be the same size as the disc: you stick 20 mm pads onto a 20 mm Pododisc, and 25 mm pads onto a 25 mm Pododisc. The pink sanding pads come in packs of 50, and the polishing pads in packs of 25.
Disposable pads and treatment hygiene
Each pad has a self-adhesive back that holds it firmly on the carrier and stops it shifting during work. Replaceable pads are quick to take off and put on, so changing grit in the middle of a treatment takes no time. After the treatment the used pad goes in the bin, and the steel carrier is sterilised. Only the carrier is sterilised – the pad is disposable. It is a hygienic way of working: every client has their pedicure done with fresh abrasive material.
What the pads fit
The pads are made for use with the stainless steel Julia Nessa Pododisc. For toenail work, e-file bits and nail files will also come in handy.
