Shades of yellow gel polish

Lemon 408 is a light, warm yellow that instantly brightens the whole nail set. It is a bold yet easy-on-the-eye colour for a solo manicure and summer designs.

409 Lemon Sorbet is a pastel lemon – a more delicate, milky version of yellow that suits subtle spring nail sets and goes with other pastel gel polishes.

If you're looking for a warmer, autumnal yellow, take a look at mustard 407 – a colour that brings to mind turmeric and autumn sunshine.

Yellow nails – nail sets for spring and summer

Yellow nails are a classic of the warmer months. Yellow gel polish looks good on its own, but also combined with white, mint, sky blue or pastel purple – for example in a nail set where every nail is a different pastel colour. Small flowers, daisies and fruit designs look lovely on a yellow background, and pastel lemon is a popular choice for an Easter manicure. Yellow sets off a tanned hand nicely, which is why clients happily reach for it in summer.

NessaUV lac yellow gel polish – pigmentation and wear

Every NessaUV lac yellow gel polish comes in an 8 ml bottle and has high pigmentation, and the shaped brush lets you apply the colour precisely, right up to the cuticles. Light shades such as yellow are best built up in thin layers – the colour is then even, with no streaks or see-through patches on the nail plate. With a base and top coat, a gel polish manicure usually looks neat for 2–3 weeks.

Yellow in nail design – prep and colours to combine

Yellow gel polish looks best on a carefully prepared nail: prep the cuticles, buff the nail plate to matte and apply the base, then spread the colour thinly, keeping it away from the cuticles. Yellow is also a great base for nail art – contrasting dots, lines and flowers look especially striking on it. Among all gel polish colours, yellow pairs best with white, sky blue, mint and pastel purples, and in autumn nail sets with brown and mustard.

How to apply yellow gel polish

  • ♥ apply a gel polish base and cure it in the lamp
  • ♥ spread a thin layer of colour and cure: 120 seconds in a 36W UV lamp or 30 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp
  • ♥ apply a second thin layer – light colours then gain full, uniform coverage
  • ♥ seal the design with a top coat

Yellow gel polish – frequently asked questions

How many coats of yellow gel polish should I apply? Usually two thin coats. With pastel lemon a third can come in handy, so the colour is perfectly even.

What goes well with yellow gel polish? White, mint, sky blue and pastel purple – combinations that look good in spring and summer.

Which yellow gel polish for Easter? Pastel Lemon Sorbet 409 – delicate, spring-like and it goes well with other pastels.
