Dual Forms – Reusable Forms for Nail Extensions

Products: 9

Do your clients dream of beautiful, long nails? Julia Nessa has a way to get them there. Our range includes Dual Forms: reusable plastic forms used for nail extensions. They give a polished result, and they work with the builder gel system as well as with acrygel. Take a look at what we have prepared for you.

Dual forms are also called top forms, because you work with them from above, and they work differently from a classic nail form. You apply the building product – builder gel or acrygel – inside the form, then press it onto the prepared nail plate. After curing you take the form off, and the nail already has its planned length and side line. This way all of your client's nails look the same, and with the Complete Sandwich series very little shaping is needed after curing.

All the models in this category are made of plastic and can be used again and again. After each appointment, clean them in line with the hygiene rules of your salon, and they will serve you for the next sets.

Meet the series: First Step, Modern and Complete Sandwich

First Step – the series for building the skeleton

First Step is the first stage of nail extensions, the skeleton. The models in this series are made of bendy, flexible plastic, so you can pinch the C-curve with a pinching tool. The lines on the form work as numbering and help you set the length precisely. A box holds 120 pieces in 10 sizes, and the whole system works with builder gel and acrygel. Choose First Step Almond or First Step Square – this series comes in especially handy when trimming and fitting traditional forms is a struggle for you.

Modern – contemporary lines and a very large C-curve

Modern models have straight side lines and a very large C-curve. They let you make a short nail as well as an unusually long, avant-garde one, and the result is identical on every finger. Modern Almond is a modern take on the almond shape, and Modern Square a modern take on the square. Each box contains 120 pieces in 10 sizes, which you match to the width of the nail plate.

Complete Sandwich – a smooth underside, no filing

Complete Sandwich boxes contain 240 professional sandwich-type forms each. They are made of a durable, flexible material that adapts to the natural nail. The sandwich technology spreads the product evenly, gives symmetry and a perfectly smooth underside, so after curing you do not need to file for long – a real time saver during the appointment. The series is available as Complete Sandwich Square in a classic square and Complete Sandwich Almond with a perfect almond outline.

Other boxes

The range also includes Salon Almond, Salon Oval and Classic Almond boxes. Their names tell you the line you will build the extension in – almond or oval. You can check the details of each one on its product page.

Top forms or nail forms – what is the difference?

A nail form goes under the free edge and you build the extension on it, then peel it off after curing. A dual form works from the top: the product sits inside it, and the inside marks the outline of the nail. Nail forms have to be fitted carefully under every finger, whereas here the most important thing is choosing the right size.

If you prefer that method, take a look at the nail forms for extensions category. To adjust them, you will find scissors for trimming forms useful – curved, made of stainless steel, and they cut from the very first millimetre.

Nail extensions with builder gel or acrygel – how to get a perfect result

Precise work with a form starts with choosing the right size. A few rules that make building the extension easier:

  • match the size to the width and shape of the nail – the form should fit the natural plate well,
  • plan the length using the lines on the First Step and Modern forms,
  • apply the product evenly, without rushing and without excess near the cuticles,
  • with the First Step series you can pinch the C-curve – pinching clips, 5 pcs will come in handy,
  • after curing, remove the form carefully and finish the nail set with your usual technique.

Nail forms and dual forms – professional solutions for precise work

You choose forms and nail forms for extensions to suit the type of nail set, not just out of habit. Top forms work well when a client wants identical nails and you want full control over length and shape at a fast pace. The large Complete boxes of 240 pieces give you a supply in one shape, which you will appreciate in a salon where the durability of accessories also counts.

With nail forms, the scissors mentioned above are an important accessory, and with the First Step series, so are the clips for pinching the C-curve. Small things like these help you do an extension manicure faster and more accurately.
