Smooth Gel Light Pink – a hard builder gel with stronger coverage
Builder gels, sometimes also called construction gels, are responsible for the nail shape and the strength of the nail set. The gels in the Smooth range were developed in a completely new formula, so that working with them is as easy as possible and the result is consistently beautiful. Light Pink combines hardness with levelling and covers more than shades with 50–60% coverage – a good choice when your client wants a more visible colour than a classic pink, but still in a natural, milky pink tone. Unlike self-levelling gels, which spread across the nail on their own, Smooth Gel needs to be spread with the brush, and the levelling only smooths the gel once it’s applied. This predictable consistency and long-lasting result are strengths that every nail stylist with a full salon diary will appreciate.

A builder gel for nail extensions on forms
Smooth Gel is a range you can use successfully when working on nail forms. A well-fitted form is the basis of the right shape – our nail forms for extensions will help you choose. The levelling formula makes it easier to sculpt an extension with an even surface, and the hard gel gives the structure solid support.
The most important moment in this work is the C-curve. You can pinch Light Pink – we recommend doing it after about 20 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp, then finishing the curing. This makes it easier to give the structure a perfect shape and an even C-curve, even with a more opaque colour. With this builder gel you pinch the C-curve once, shortly after application – you don’t need to repeat it after full curing.
70–80% coverage – when to choose a stronger pink
The milky pink colour of Light Pink is clearly defined, and 70–80% coverage means the natural nail plate shows through less than under shades with 50–60% coverage. It’s a good choice for clients who want the glassy nail look but with a stronger pink – for example when the natural nail plate has an uneven tone that you’d like to correct subtly with the colour of the structure. If your client prefers a more translucent, uniformly pink effect, reach for Smooth Gel Candy Pink 50 ml with 50–60% coverage.
You can leave the structure in its natural milky pink or cover it with gel polish and a top coat – depending on the design you agree with your client. A gel manicure like this looks neat from day one, and the durability of the structure depends mainly on careful nail preparation.
How to apply Smooth Gel Light Pink builder gel – step by step
- After preparing the cuticles and doing the manicure, cleanse and dehydrate the nail with Nail Fresh.
- Once Nail Fresh has dried, apply SuperBond or a primer, choosing it to suit your client’s needs – the adhesion of the whole nail set depends on this stage.
- Massage in the first layer of base coat and cure it.
- If you’re doing extensions, fit the nail form. Apply a thin layer of gel over the cured base coat.
- Spread the right amount of gel to create a perfect apex.
- Cure for 120 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp. If you’re pinching the C-curve, do it after about 20 seconds and put the hand back in the lamp.
Who is this milky pink builder gel for, and which size should you choose?
Light Pink suits a nail stylist who focuses on gel manicures with a more defined colour – whether for nail extensions or for building over natural nails – and who is looking for a gel that is hard yet easy to level. Nail stylists who work with one structure colour for most of the day will appreciate a hard builder gel in a large jar. The 50 ml jar is the most convenient when this shade is your main structure colour and you get through it quickly. This builder gel works well both for nail extensions for clients who want visible length and for building on the natural nail plate without changing its size – the choice depends on the nail set you’re planning.
If you’re only just getting to know the range or you work with several shades at once, choose a smaller size: Smooth Gel Light Pink 30 ml or Smooth Gel Light Pink 15 ml.
