• apply the base and cure it, then move on to the next steps of your nail set.

SuperBond, acid-free primer or Acid Primer – which to choose?

These products share the same goal – a better bond between the nail set and the nail – but they work differently. SuperBond leaves a very sticky film and acts a bit like glue – we compare it to double-sided tape between the nail plate and the base. Acid Free Primer is the acid-free option: it brings the pH to neutral and improves the adhesion of gel and gel polish bases.

The acid primer, on the other hand, strongly etches and dries the surface and opens up the keratin scales, which is why it's applied only to selected spots. Your choice depends on the condition of your client's nails and on how you work day to day.
