A thick builder gel that self-levels – how it works in practice
Structure gels, or builder gels, differ mainly in consistency. This builder gel has a pudding-like consistency: very thick, yet self-levelling. The thickness gives you control – the gel doesn’t run away from where you place it, so you can shape the nail calmly. Self-levelling, in turn, helps you get a smooth surface before your client’s hand goes into the lamp.
This combination is especially useful when speed matters. With this gel you can comfortably do several nails at once: apply the product to each nail plate in turn, shape it and only then cure. That’s convenient in everyday salon work, with every manicure like this, and especially handy at competitions, where every minute counts.
- Colour: milky – doesn’t yellow during curing and doesn’t change while worn.
- Consistency: pudding-like, very thick but self-levelling.
- Work: you can build several nails at once.
- C-curve: holds the C-curve beautifully without pinching.
- Use: extreme shapes, sculpted French, fantasy French, correcting drooping nails.
- Curing time: 120 seconds in a 36W UV lamp, 60 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp.
- Volume: 15 ml, made in Europe.
A gel for competitions and for correcting drooping nails
Just like the Jelly series, you can use this builder gel at various nail styling championships. For a stylist entering a competition, precision is what counts: an even C-curve, a clean line at the cuticles and a repeatable, perfect shape on both hands. Giving the nail the right shape takes time, and the pudding-like consistency gives you that time – you can keep refining the form until you get a perfect shape. A thick builder gel that holds the C-curve beautifully without pinching makes that kind of repeatability easier.
It also lets you correct drooping nails. In this kind of structure it’s important that the gel stays where you place it and doesn’t run towards the cuticles – the pudding-like consistency gives you time for that. It’s the same with extreme shapes and a sculpted French: first you calmly build the form, then you refine it.
How to apply a milky builder gel – step by step
Every nail stylist knows that the longevity of a nail set starts with preparation – the adhesion of the whole structure depends on it. Recommended order of work:
- After preparing the cuticles and doing the manicure, degrease and dehydrate the natural nail plate with Nail Fresh.
- Once it has dried, apply SuperBond or a primer – the choice depends on the condition of the nail plate.
- Massage the first layer of base coat into the nail and cure it.
- Apply a thin layer of gel over the cured base coat, then spread the right amount of product, building a perfect apex.
- Cure in the lamp, adjusting the time to its power: 120 seconds in a 36W UV lamp or 60 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp.
- Finally, refine the shape with a nail file – the more evenly you build the structure, the less filing you’ll need at this stage.
On the finished structure you can do a gel polish manicure in the colour of your choice, or leave the milky effect and finish the nail set with a top coat. It’s an easy way to make a gel manicure look just as good on your client’s short and long nails.
Master Milky Gel 15 ml – who is this size for?
The 15 ml version is a good starter gel for a nail stylist who is just getting to know thick-consistency gels and wants to see whether working with this gel suits her. It also works as an easy-to-carry “travel” gel – for training or competitions – and when you only use the milky shade occasionally, for example for a sculpted French. For more frequent work, the Master Milky Gel 30 ml milky builder gel will be more convenient – the features and curing times are the same in both versions.
If you prefer the same consistency in pink, reach for Master Cloud Pink Gel 15 ml. Nail stylists who are only now choosing their first builder gel will find a comparison of gel types in our guide to nail gels.
Builder gel for nail extensions? Master vs Smooth Gel
This gel works best for building extreme shapes and a sculpted French. If you mainly want to extend on forms, look at the Smooth Gel series – Smooth Gel is suitable for extensions on forms, and you pinch the C-curve after about 20 seconds in a DUAL LED lamp. For nail stylists who like working with “shape memory”, that is, with thixotropy, we recommend the Tixy series. Choose Master Milky Gel or the pink Master Cloud Pink Gel when you want a C-curve without pinching and plenty of time for sculpting. Whichever builder gels you work with most often, it’s worth keeping a few gels with different consistencies at your nail desk and using them according to the needs of each nail set.

Is Master Milky Gel suitable for competitions?
Yes. Like the Jelly series, you can use Master Milky Gel at various kinds of championships.
Can I build several structures at once with it?
Yes. The pudding-like consistency lets you build the nail for a long time, so you can sculpt the next ones before putting the hand in the lamp.
Is this a self-levelling gel?
The consistency is very thick, yet it levels itself. The term “self-levelling” isn’t used for it – above all it’s a thick gel that gives you control over the shape.
Does the milky colour change while worn?
No. The gel doesn’t yellow during curing and doesn’t change colour while the nail set is worn. That colour stability means your client keeps the same milky effect until her next visit.
What is the difference between the 15 ml and 30 ml versions?
Only the volume – it’s the same builder gel, and the features, application method and curing times are the same.
Is this an easy gel for a nail stylist who is just starting with builder gels?
Yes, although it’s worth practising on a few nails first. The pudding-like consistency forgives small mistakes and gives you time for corrections, which is often a big help with your first gel nail sets.
