Tixy Cover Natural – a beige builder gel that stays put

The main advantage of this gel is thixotropy, known as “shape memory”. In the pot, Tixy Cover Natural is a thick gel, and once applied to the nail it becomes slightly runnier. Even so, it doesn’t run away: it stays put like a drop on a rough surface, and doesn’t spread or run as quickly as standard builder gels. That gives you more control over the shape of the nail – the material stays where you put it.

The second feature you will appreciate at the desk is the levelling consistency. Once you put the brush down, the surface of the gel smooths out, so you get an even layer faster without extra corrections. Nail extensions and build-ups – application step by step

The adhesion of the whole nail set is built at the preparation stage. This routine works for both extensions and building up without changing the length:

• Degrease and dehydrate the nail, e.g. with Nail Fresh.
• Apply a primer (e.g. Acid-Free Primer) or SuperBond chosen for your client, then a base coat. Cure it.
• Apply a thin layer of Tixy Cover Natural over the cured base coat.
• Add the right amount of gel and spread it to create a perfect apex. A comfortable gel brush will help with sculpting, e.g. Slim-Gel brush 10 mm/6 mm.
• Put the brush down for a moment – the gel will level the surface.
• Cure in the lamp, adjusting the time to its power.

A smooth surface after levelling means fewer corrections with the file, and that is exactly the idea behind the no-file technique. On the finished structure you can complete the manicure with colour, striking nail art and a top coat, or leave the natural beige if that was the plan with your client.
