Opis produktu
Naked Base – a milky pink base coat for a natural look
This base coat partly camouflages imperfections caused by damage or by the natural curves of the nail. It doesn’t cover the nail plate completely, so the effect is subtle and neat – nails look well cared for rather than “painted”. The medium-thick consistency lets you build up and strengthen a weak nail, and the self-levelling properties help you get a smooth surface without spending ages correcting it with the brush.
- 30–40% pigmentation – a natural, healthy look and partial camouflage.
- Medium hardness – support for weak, brittle and fragile nails.
- Adhesion and durability
- Can be built up – strengthens the natural nail plate.
- Base under gel – the product can also be used in a gel system.
- Volume: 8 ml, made in Europe.
Benefits of coloured base coats – adhesion, a long-lasting nail set and an even nail plate
A pigmented base coat does several jobs at once. First, it creates the foundation that the durability of the manicure depends on – a well-chosen base coat is an essential part of a gel polish manicure, and choosing the right one affects how long the nail set lasts. Second, it evens out curves and hides small signs of damage, so the layer of coloured gel polish you apply later looks smoother. Third, it can give a finished, subtle look on its own when your client doesn’t want an intense colour.
Compared with a clear classic base coat, the milky pink shade masks uneven colour better while still looking natural. That’s why Naked Base is a good choice for clients who like minimalist nail sets and want to improve the look of their nails without a strong colour.
How to apply a gel polish base coat and build an apex – step by step
- Cleanse and dehydrate the nail plate with Nail Fresh.
- Once it has dried, apply SuperBond or a primer, choosing it to suit the type of nail.
- Massage the first layer of base coat into the nail – thinly and thoroughly.
- Use the second layer to build the apex and even out the natural curves.
- Cure the base coat: 30 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp or 180 seconds in a 36W UV lamp.
Keep a small gap from the cuticles so that the product doesn’t touch the skin. If you’re planning to build up with gel, you can build on the cured layer with, for example, Tixy Cover gel – you can read more about choosing products to use under gel in our post do you need a base coat under gel, and which one to choose. You can also use a gel structure for nail extensions.
Base coat, colour and top coat – how to protect a gel polish nail set
You can apply any coloured gel polish over Naked Base or leave the base coat on its own for a subtle effect. Either way, a gel polish nail set is finished with a glossy layer that protects the colour from mechanical damage and gives it its finish – for shine, try High Gloss Top no-wipe. Careful nail preparation and thoroughly massaging in the first layer are simple ways to improve gel polish adhesion and reduce chipping – that’s how you create a beautiful, long-lasting manicure.
When choosing a base coat, start by matching the shade to your client’s natural nail colour and to the gel polish you’re planning to use. If your client prefers a bit of sparkle, you’ll also find base coats with fine glitter in our shop.
Types of gel polish base coats – when to choose Naked bases, and when Rubber Base Milky or a rubber base?
The Naked range consists of coloured gel polish base coats with different levels of coverage, which makes it easier to work with different nail plates. Milky Naked Base has similar 30–40% coverage, but a milky white, practically translucent shade – choose it when you don’t want a pink tone. For more visible imperfections, Naked Base Porcelain Pink (60%) or Porcelain Milky Pink (80%) will work better.
Flexible base coats are a completely different group. Rubber Base Milky has 60–70% coverage and was created mainly for weak and brittle nails – it makes neon colours pop and makes pastel shades easier to apply. The Pink and Natural versions work well as a base for French manicures, baby boomer nails and nude nail sets. So choose Naked Base when you want a natural effect with medium hardness, and the flexible Rubber Base when flexibility is your top priority.
