Opis produktu
The Dual gel removal bit is a bit with two different ends, created for cleaning the join between the natural nail plate and the extended nail, and for removing gel and gel polish. It works well during nail set infills, correcting drooping nails and working with dual forms. You’ll find the other models from this family, including the cone, cylinder and fir tree, in the gel removal bits category.
What are gel removal bits and where does the Dual fit among them?
Gel removal bits are e-file bits with blades that wear away cured product. Some are used to take off thicker layers from the surface of the nail, others for precise stages of the treatment. The Dual belongs to the second group: it lets you work the regrowth zone accurately, where the product meets the natural nail plate.
- Design: two different ends.
- Material: high-quality tungsten carbide.
- Use: cleaning the join between the natural nail plate and the extended nail, working the cuticle line, infills, correcting drooping nails, working with dual forms.
- Finish: smooth surface with no snagging.
- Hygiene: can be sterilised in beauty autoclaves.
- Shank: 2.35 mm (3/32 inch) – fits all the most popular nail e-file models.
Dual carbide bit – tungsten carbide bits for gel or acrylic
Like the No.1, No.2 and No.3 models, the Dual is made of tungsten carbide, which is why it counts as a carbide bit. It works well on gel nail sets and on acrygel too – whenever you are doing an infill with gel or another product and need to even out the join between the product and the regrowth.
Grit and two ends – professional gel removal bits for infills
The Dual’s ideal grit leaves the surface smooth and ready for further work straight away, with no snagging. The two different ends mean quick, comfortable work: during the treatment you choose the one that gives the most comfortable access to the area you are working on, without reaching for another bit.
How to use the e-file at the join of product and nail plate – quick, safe removal of excess product
- Before the treatment, make sure the bit is clean and sterilised, then fit it securely in the chuck.
- Work at 1/2 speed and without heavy pressure, especially in the regrowth zone, where it’s easy to damage the nail plate.
- Guide the end smoothly along the join until the transition between the product and the nail plate is even.
- Slow down near the nail folds and work in short movements to stay precise.
- Don’t hold the bit in one spot – constant movement limits heat build-up in the nail.
- A Studio Air nail dust collector will limit the dust from the work, and it’s worth wearing a mask for longer sessions.
When to reach for gel removal bits, and when for the Dual?
The ideal bit depends on the stage of the treatment. Well-chosen removal bits let you take off layers of product quickly and effectively while keeping control over the removal. During an infill, the work usually goes in a similar order:
- you shorten and even out the product – at this stage, bits for working on the surface, such as the No.1 cone, work best;
- you clean the join with the natural nail plate and even out the regrowth with the Dual, working without pressure to limit the risk of damaging the natural nail plate;
- with dual forms and when correcting drooping nails, you smooth the surface with the Dual so it is ready for further work.
Knowing the types of bits makes every nail stylist’s work easier. A trusted bit for removing gel, a bit chosen for the regrowth and a ceramic model for gel polish make a set with which you can handle typical salon treatments efficiently. For gel polish alone, ceramic bits are recommended, and for gel or acrygel nail sets – tungsten carbide models.
Dual gel removal bit vs ceramic bit and bits for removing gel polish
The Dual has a different job from bits for removing the whole nail set. When your client wears gel polish only, reach for the ceramic bit for removing gel polish with a red band – but remember it won’t work on gel or acrygel nail sets. For taking a thicker layer of gel, acrylic and gel polish manicure off the surface of the nail plate, there is the cone-shaped No.1 gel removal bit, and for working the underside of the nails – the No.3 fir tree bit. The Dual complements these models where precision matters: at the regrowth and in the zone by the nail folds.
How to care for your bits – cleaning and autoclave sterilisation
Bits need proper care. After each client, clean the dust off both ends, disinfect the bit, then prepare it for sterilisation in a beauty autoclave – this model can be sterilised without worry. Store clean bits separately from used ones and protect them from knocks so that the ends run evenly, without vibration. Only a bit prepared this way goes back on the nail desk.
Who the Dual bit is for – nail stylists, infills and dual forms
The model will be appreciated by nail stylists who regularly infill gel, work with the dual form technique or often correct drooping nails. Two ends in one tool mean fewer breaks to change bits, and the ability to sterilise in an autoclave is an important advantage in a salon where you keep to high hygiene standards. If you mainly do gel polish manicures without extensions, you’ll need this bit less often.
