A pink gel polish base with 60% pigmentation – the happy medium of the Naked series
Porcelain pink sits between the delicate, milky-pink Naked Base (30–40%) and the highly opaque Porcelain Milky variant (80%). This level of pigmentation evens out the colour and hides signs of damage, yet hands still look natural rather than “painted”. It’s a good choice when a clear base isn’t enough, but strong coverage would feel too heavy for a minimalist nail set.
- Colour: porcelain pink, 60% pigmentation.
- Consistency: self-levelling – makes it easier to even out the surface.
- Hardness: medium – extra reinforcement for weakened nails.
- Build-up: strengthens the natural nail plate.
- Base for gel: you can carry on working with gel on top of it.
- Volume: 8 ml, made in Europe.
The Naked base formula combines two functions: it is the foundation of a gel polish manicure and strengthens the natural nail plate at the same time. Thanks to the build-up option, you can even out any unevenness left by damage, and the porcelain shade unifies the colour before you reach for a colour polish.
How to apply Naked Base Porcelain Pink and build an apex – step by step
Nail plate prep decides how well the product adheres, so don’t skip any step:
- Degrease and dehydrate the nail with Nail Fresh Dehydrator.
- Once it has dried, apply SuperBond or a primer chosen to suit the nail plate.
- Massage the first layer of base into the nail.
- Use the second layer to build the apex and level out the natural curves.
- Cure for 30 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp or 180 seconds in a 36W UV lamp.
Leave a small gap by the nail folds – base that runs onto the cuticles increases the risk of lifting and irritation. Roll the bottle between your palms instead of shaking it, so you don’t introduce air bubbles. The self-levelling formula helps smooth out small brush marks, so a smooth, glossy surface is left after curing and building the apex takes less time.
Base for builder gel and for colour – how to use porcelain pink
This base can be used as a base for gel. On the cured layer you can therefore carry on building with a builder gel, e.g. Tixy Cover gel 30 ml, including for nail extensions. You can read about when a base under gel makes sense in the post can you put a base under gel and which one to choose.
In a gel polish manicure, porcelain pink works well as a backdrop for light and pastel colours – the evened-out tone makes gel polish look cleaner. Finish with a top coat that protects the nail set and gives it shine. A well-chosen base is the key to a long-lasting nail set, so match the shade and coverage to what you want to hide.
Naked, milky, glitter or rubber – which gel polish base to choose?
In the Naked range you will also find Naked Base Pink, whose shade can replace a colour gel polish, the porcelain Milky with 80% pigmentation, and milky options: Milky Naked Base and Milky Cloud. If flexibility matters to you, choose a rubber base – the flexible Rubber Base in a pink shade (pigmentation 60–70%) is a foundation for French and nude nail sets, while Base Milky enhances neon shades. For clients who love shine, you can offer the glitter bases from the Julia Nessa range.
Who is this pink gel polish base for?
Reach for this base when a client has weak, brittle nails with signs of damage or natural curves, and wants a well-groomed look without strong colour. Nail stylists who often work with build-ups will appreciate it – medium hardness and self-levelling cut down the time spent evening out the surface, and the porcelain pink improves the look of the nails straight away.

How opaque is this base?
Pigmentation is set at 60% – that’s more than in the classic Naked Base (30–40%) and less than in the Porcelain Milky variant (80%).
Can I build with gel on it?
Yes, the base can be used as a base for gel, so on the cured layer you can carry on working with a builder gel.
How do I avoid lifting with this base?
Prep the nail plate thoroughly, massage the first layer into the nail and don’t flood the cuticles. Cure for 30 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp or 180 seconds in a 36W UV lamp.
