Pink Naked Base gel polish base – what does it do for your nails?

Naked Base combines two functions: it is the foundation of a gel polish manicure and at the same time it evens out unevenness. The thick consistency lets you build up the natural nail plate, and the self-levelling formula makes it easier to get a smooth surface.  The product can be used as a base under a gel.

How to apply Base Pink from the Naked series, building an apex – step by step

Nail plate preparation has a big impact on how the nails look in the end, so don’t skip any step:

• Degrease and dehydrate the nail plate with Nail Fresh dehydrator.
• Once it has dried, apply SuperBond or a primer, choosing one to suit the nail plate.
• Rub a first, thin layer of base into the nail.
• Apply a second layer, building the apex and evening out the natural curves.
• Cure the base for 30 seconds in a 48W DUAL LED lamp or 180 seconds in a 36W UV lamp.

Work calmly and don’t press the brush against the nail folds, so you don’t flood the cuticles – product on the skin increases the risk of chipping and irritation. Roll the bottle between your hands instead of shaking it hard, so you don’t introduce air bubbles into the base. When the base is to act as the colour, finish the nail set with a top coat for a beautiful, long-lasting manicure. If you plan to build up, you can apply a builder gel over the cured base, e.g. Tixy Cover 30 ml gel, which we also recommend for nail extensions.

Naked Base in a pink shade, porcelain or milky – which to choose?

The series covers several tones, so you can easily match the product to the colour of the client’s nail plate. If you need a specific level of coverage, reach for Naked Base Porcelain Pink with pigmentation of 60%, or the more opaque Porcelain Milky Pink (80%). For fans of white, a good alternative is the milky Naked Base Milky Cloud – its shade can also replace a polish.

If flexibility matters to you, consider a rubber base. The flexible Rubber Base in a pink shade has 60–70% pigmentation and was created mainly for weak and brittle nails – for nude nail sets you only need to apply a top coat over it. The Rubber line also includes Base Milky, which makes neon colours pop. Bases with glitter are gathered in a separate category of the shop. The formula of the Naked series bases is thick and levels itself, but technique also determines the result. A few rules will help keep the nail set long-lasting:

• Apply thin layers – a thick layer is harder to cure properly.
• Rub the first layer in thoroughly, because the adhesion of the following layers depends on it.
• Before applying the top coat, check the surface in good light – when the base replaces colour, every unevenness will show.
• Stick to the times given in the instructions for your lamp and don’t shorten the curing.
